With the change of the seasons, I'm finding it hard to focus on any one project. There's too many things going on. Eden's outfit is stalled. Like usual, it's fighting me every step of the way. What is it about getting old? I seem to have lost my touch. Used to be that I'd choose the fabrics, make up the outfit and it worked out exactly like I wanted it to. Not anymore. Or at least rarely.
This is where I'm at....inserting studs and sewing the beads on the epaulets....
But I'm liking everything less and less. I've never been a fan of beiges, browns and greens. The fabrics I chose aren't working out either. The beaded under-sleeves seem way too stiff. The beige tunic fabric is thin but stiff, and shows all the pin holes. I'm also second-guessing the hooded collar fabric. I much prefer Prince Adrian's wine red one. Jan asks why I can't just give it to Eden. Well, because it belongs to Adrian, and I've been photographing him with it on, since March.
I don't know. It's true that an outfit tends to look questionable (to me) at a certain point, and if I push on anyways, it usually turns out just fine. I hope so. I'm this far already, so might as well keep going and see what I think when it's done.
In the meantime I also started knitting a sweater for Raillie.....
The uppers for the five pairs of shoes are finally done, and are waiting for me to add the Apoxie soles and heels. Something I'm not really looking forward to....
I also have in mind a possible new Christmas story, which requires a new outfit for Princess Nami. I went through boxes of fabrics, and chose some nice turquoise ones for the dress and jacket. But the next day, changed my mind and pulled out a different, less bright combination. The gray brocade will be for her main dress, the lighter blue for her underskirt and sleeves, and the darker blue for a fur-trimmed coat.... assuming I don't change my mind again....
One thing that did work out, was blushing one of the horses in the basement herd. I was getting tired of the posable Morgan Horse's joints always showing. Plus he wasn't nearly as realistic looking as the other horses. So I decided to do a bit of work on a golden cream horse with cream coloured hair and tail. That way I'd have a new horse for the ladies. *Photos coming soon.
