Which doll gets the first dress made in my new sewing room?

I sat down with a piece of paper and made a list of possible posts for the upcoming days. I easily came up with 14 topics…and then I listed all my dolls…I put the pieces of paper face down on my dining room table and asked my hubby to pick one…

You see, to be honest, I have been just a little bit overwhelmed at starting up again…it wasn’t that I was afraid I had forgotten how to sew, it wasn’t that I was worried about messing up my new sewing room, and it wasn’t that I didn’t want to sew.

So I tried to figure out what I was feeling…and you know what I think it was? It was the “coming to the end” of my big, dreamy, sewing room project… it was almost over and there were no more decisions to make, no more things to buy, (well, maybe a few) :o) It was almost like a letdown…you know, like the day after Christmas or after you buy something you’ve been dreaming of forever and then the new wears off. I know that all sounds hokey, but it happened and now it is time to get back to what I do and what ALL this was for…SEWING FOR DOLLS!!!

So, I guess you’re wondering what was on the piece of paper my hubby picked?

It was…Navi. I know Laura was cheering for Kirsten to be up next, but she’ll have to wait a bit longer.

I was almost relieved that my “first” project was for my littlest girl and would come together quickly. I was thrilled at the same time because I really enjoy sewing for this little 6 1/2″ bundle of joy.

I found a pretty little blue and yellow cotton print and made a simple sleeveless dress that closes in back with 3 sets of snaps.

I had the perfect color of blue wool felt to match. I also had the tiny yellow buttons to decorate her jacket.

The dress and jacket went together in one evening which leaves me time tomorrow to maybe get this finished!!
