Before I get started, I wanted to say my pictures are just a bit on the drab side. I was going to tweak them and brighten them up a bit, but I forgot until it was too late.
Also, I had a HUGE number of views on my post yesterday… 712 to be exact! I’m not sure what was the “draw” to my post, but I just kind of smiled to myself and said, “Awww… everyone missed my sewing posts!” Thanks everyone! :o)
Remember that yellow bolt of tulle (netting) I bought for $2.00 at the 100 mile yard sale last year? Well, I finally had a reason to use some of it…about 1/8 of a yard! Only 24 7/8th’s yards to go! :o)
I can probably make 200 more slips. I thought it was “necessary” for Navi’s new dress set and I do think she looks pretty sweet standing in it… It’s about 1 1/2″ long…the teeniest slip you’ve ever seen.
I read the comments later this afternoon and was happy to read a bow in her hair was what seemed most popular.
I could have stopped with the dress, the jacket and the hair bow, but you know me…
I also added a tiny band of the yellow and white dots fabric to the waist of the dress. It’s the same fabric as what the bodice is lined in. The narrow band is sewn down at the sides and doesn’t go around to the back.
Navi got all dressed up but she was barefooted and the only shoes I had were a pair of hunter green and black suede ones. Neither looked very nice with the set, so I got to searching in my “cobbler” stuff and found this tiny pair of pink plastic shoes that came on a little doll I found at the Goodwill. I decided to see if I could cover them with tacky glue and put the Ultrasuede over and press it down.
Oh I forgot to tell you…I had the perfect shade of blue to match her blue wool felt jacket. Time for a little “Happy Dolly Dance!”
Anyway, they worked “pretty” well, but aren’t quite up to my shoe standard I normally make…just a quick shoe to slip on and look nice with her dress.
Here she is…all dressed up and ready for her day of modeling…
Instead of listing this on Ebay, I’m going to try to sell this for $59.00 plus $5.00 shipping right here on my blog. If you are interested, leave a comment below or email me using the “Contact Me” tab near the top of my blog. The first person to let me know gets it.
If it doesn’t have any takers here, I’ll move it to the My Meadow Fan Club forum.
Thanks everyone,
Blessings, Jeanne
