As I was working on Nellie’s dress a few days ago, trying to get it right from the picture, I was thinking back on a few copycat creations I made that actually DID turn out pretty well. Nellie’s won’t go down in history as being ONE of them, though.
Want to see a few I’ve made over the years from catalogs and pattern books?
Let’s start with one for Elizabeth… this picture came from a 1974 pattern book I own.
Next is one for Molly from a little fashion magazine from 1945…
This next red dress for Molly was in a Sears Catalog from 1944…
Look at this price…. $2.98!!
I was digging deep into my archived pictures so the quality isn’t the greatest…
This one was called Cheerful Checkmate… for Molly…
This was a dress pattern I made for myself while in high school in the 70’s. I always loved my dress and thought Julie would too…
Here’s an oldie but goodie for Kit…copied from the Sears Catalog…
The pictures below are from the page above… Can you tell which dress I copied?
This was my debut dress for Julie when I first received her…
Here is another one for Molly from the Sears catalog…
This was a dress for my “first” Molly doll…
Here is the same dress in my “Patriotic” version…
There are more, but that will have to do for today… I hope you enjoyed them…
See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne
