It's interesting what photos show up on my Facebook feed, and today it was of Bonnie and Efreet exploring Carlsbad Caverns on a trip to the southwest back in 2014.....
This was in the days before I'd had assigned some of my dolls to permanent families. In fact I threw together a 'family' of dolls with Leona and Owen as the adults, and three children that I'd had trouble bonding with, in hopes that focusing on just them for a few weeks would help.
The photos above were taken at the last stop on our trip, at Carlsbad Caverns. I didn't take the dolls into the actual cave, which turned out to be a good thing since they were so poorly lit. So I took photos of them inside the Visitor centre in front of huge murals, and with their 'sacrificial stalagmite'.
Here's a few more of my favourite photos from that trip....
Leona with Bonnie and Efreet at Cameron Pass in Colorado....
Peach, Bonnie and Efreet at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs...
Owen and Efreet at 14,000' at the summit of Pike's Peak.....
Biking in Arches National Park...
Peach, exploring Santa Fe....
Efreet and Bonnie at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival....
Relaxing atop the dunes in White Sands....
It was my very first 'family trip', and by the next one Owen and Leona had their own children. Efreet went on to get a family of his own, but Peach and Bonnie stayed 'orphans'.
