I’m LOVING my new sewing room…

I thought I might possibly get everything back in my sewing room today, but alas, I didn’t. My hubby’s physical therapist recommended he switch to an edema therapist to help with the swelling in his legs and feet. Today was our first day and we spent a fair amount of time with her. She was wonderful and we are very hopeful for good things to come.

The time away from home didn’t allow me enough time to get everything moved back into my sewing room.

First I had to get the trim put down, and since my hubby can’t get down on his knees, it was all up to me. I’ve never done trim all by myself before, so I just started and was pretty pleased with myself. I got the miter saw out and a long board from the garage to use as I pre started my nails in the trim before I nailed it to the walls.

I had already primed and painted the trim so it was ready to be measured, cut and nailed to the walls. It took longer than I thought though. This isn’t a perfectly square room and I don’t think there was one corner that was a perfect 90% angle!!!

After several hours and not one, but 2 painful conks on my head from the hinge on the door, I finished almost all the trim. I still have to do the area with the 1/2″ x 4″ pvc (waterproof) trim where my sewing machines will go.

The area under my doorway had to have a piece of thin board cut to cover that rough area that we fit in there. It’s been painted but needed a second coat so it wasn’t ready for me to put up yet.

After all the nail holes in the trim were filled and painted I could hardly wait to get some felt pieces attached to the legs of some of my furniture and set them in place.

I went around my house collecting the drawers and putting them back where they belonged. I had to level my white dresser a bit because the floor sloped.

Here is a picture of a corner of my new room… isn’t it pretty? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone in there and just stared at how it looks!!

I know I’m going to love it and I still can’t believe it all happened the way it did. The Lord truly blessed me with my dream sewing room and I am very grateful and thankful to be able to call this mine!!!

My hubby has another PT appointment tomorrow but I’m hoping to get the trim all finished and the rest of my furniture in place!!!

Thank you for all your kind compliments on my floor yesterday. It really is wonderful…except for being so sore…still!! Oh well…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
