Who would ever have guessed that I'd be making cats again after 30 years? Not me. But I had the idea to do a sequel to an old doll photo story, and thought of finally making up an unfinished cat figure I've had in the cupboard for years - my sister was giving it away at our doll club back then, and I had plans for it, which never materialized.
Then talking with a friend about the first cat I was working on, she said she also had one of my sister's cats, also given away at the doll club, and she would send it to me if I wanted it. Yes, definitely, please!! Turns out her cat was an unpainted sample my sister had made for her cat-sculpting workshops. It is a very nice sculpt, perfect for a young servant girl, or maid, in my story.
So I took out all the other cats to see what colour I didn't have yet, looked online for reference photos, and decided on a gray tabby. Then set to work. A few hours later, and she was painted....
