Almost Done

It's taken me a lot longer than I anticipated, but the golden Medieval gown is almost done....

..and here's why......it's all that beading.....

First there was the two days spent on each of the four hanging sleeves, but then came the front edge of the gown itself. There were five passes all the way around. First the picot beading with the tiny size 15 glass beads. Then a row of chain stitch embroidery with gold thread. Then stitching down the gold braid alongside the chain stitch. And then finally stitching down the opposite side of the gold braid and sewing on the tiny pearls....

I still have to finish beading, and sew on, the tricot hanging sleeves onto the under dress, and make something for the doll's hair. So hopefully I'll get done this weekend.
