Trinity

The next day we were back on the main island, and drove to Trinity. It's a beautiful old English town, with the original settlement dating back to the 16th century. It has many old buildings registered as Newfoundland Heritage Structures, and it's like a visit back in time...

It was also the very first, nice, sunny day. After eight days of rain and fog, it felt wonderful to finally have at the sun out. But as nice as that is for taking scenery shots, it's not good for doll photos. Like this one of David, taken in the midday sun, with harsh shadows all over his face...

So that meant taking extra care to watch which direction the sun was coming from.

There was a small 'stage' out by the water near the Ryan premises, on which some of the kids had gathered with their ice creams...

Ringo wondered what it would have been like here, two hundred years ago, back in the days of merchant ships and pirates...

So we were magically transported back in time to find out....
...and we encountered Rex and Bianca on the dock. They had a huge trunk with them.
​So were they coming or going? 

Had they just arrived and were purchasing a horse? Or were they leaving, and saying 'good-bye'?

But I couldn't go any further with their story because of the wind.  It was blowing so strong, that even with their bases weighed down with rocks, they kept blowing over. Fortunately Jan was never out of catching range....and saved them all several times...

Not being one to quickly give up, I did try again, and even with Jan's lightning fast reflexes, the wind blew Buck right off the stage, and he landed head first on the stones of the beach.
​"Are you okay, Buck?"

He did sustain some damage to the paint on his face, but I knew it could be fixed in Photoshop.
​But it was definitely time to move on. It was way too windy there.
