very On the weekend, we made the trip to see MosaiCulture 2018, in Gatineau, just across the River from the Parliament buildings in Ottawa. It was the final weekend, and it will not be in Canada again. I had wanted to go all summer, but other things - like weather and illness - kept getting in the way. So, with it being our very last chance, we packed the car early Saturday morning, and headed out for a long day-trip....
The floral displays covered all aspects of Canadian culture - our history, our various regions, the arts, indigenous cultures and legends, and our wildlife. Here's a few photos....
The train across the Prairies, which connected the Pacific to eastern Canada....
Lobster fisherman in the Maritimes....
A snowy owl in the far north....
Joyful Celebration of Nine Lions, in homage to all the early Chinese migrants....
Moon Mask, in homage to the Pacific Northwest Indigenous cultures....
Wisakedjak and the Creation of the World, from a First Nations legend.....
Wild horse....
Mother Earth, Giver of Life....
Anne of Green Gables....
Atlantic Puffins....
Jan and I both loved it! I took so many photos, and even though it wasn't the least bit doll related, I thought I just had to share some photos. I'm going to put together an album with all the photos, on my MarthaBoers website, and when that's done, I'll post a link.
