Boy, was I wrong!!! I thought getting all my sewing stuff back in my room would go pretty quickly, but it hasn’t. There were a few things that had to be done first before things could be moved in place. I know it looks like a disaster in a lot of my pictures, but I was setting things around just to get them out of the living room and then trying to decide where was the best place to put them.
Adhesive felt pads had to be put on the bottom of everything that didn’t have them…and of course pieces of wood placed under the legs to level them. My hubby attached the top of the oak bookshelf to the wall because it’s a pretty big piece and I certainly didn’t want it falling over. Screws were added to help hold my Dressmaker sign in place too.
The white piece of trim where my doorway is had to be attached, caulked and the stair edge piece added.
My hubby managed to get down on his side and used a drill to attach the last piece of pvc trim along my sewing machine wall…the screw holes were spackled, but still need to be painted.
I was going to set the 2 bookshelves I was planning to use back in the slanted corner at right angles but there was too much wasted space in that corner so I ended up just placing them side by side against the wall. But of course they had to have shims underneath to level them out.
After all that was done, it was finally time to start moving things in from the stacks and stacks in my living room.
I went in my bedroom to get a few things I had stored in there and my “girls” asked when they were going to get to move back to the sewing room…I decided it was time. But I didn’t want them standing over in the corner on the dolly shelf they’ve always been on, so I did some tweaking, and shelf moving and placed them in a much better place…
I think I’ll like having them there, facing me while I sew. My American Girl dolls are on one row while my smaller dolls are up above. The shelf kind of goes up higher on the inside so my girls heads are protected and maybe a bit more dust free. My hubby is also going to make a stand for my smaller dolls. They won’t have to lay down all the time. They’re excited…
I put in a 12 hour day today and lots of things in my room got done, but I still have lots to do. I’m getting there and I think it’s going to be super efficient in here!!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
