It was eight years ago today that I started this website! It started originally as a place to showcase and sell the costumes I made for my Ball Jointed Dolls, but eventually evolved more into a place to share doll photos and stories.
Every year I've celebrated and taken a photo. The first year it was a cupcake with a single candle. Over the years the cupcake got bigger and bigger to accommodate the growing number of candles, and now that I needed eight candles, I chose my favourite...a chocolate mousse cake...
Every year I've celebrated and taken a photo. The first year it was a cupcake with a single candle. Over the years the cupcake got bigger and bigger to accommodate the growing number of candles, and now that I needed eight candles, I chose my favourite...a chocolate mousse cake...
I dipped some strawberries in chocolate and gathered the last few flowers still surviving in my garden, in order to set up this year's festive little scene.....
So, what are my plans for the coming year?
Well, before starting anything new, I want to make two fancy doll dresses for a granddaughter's birthday next week. Then I'll be free to start on as many lace party dresses as I can in the month of November.
December will be for focusing on Christmas stories, and maybe something for myself.
Then come January, I want to focus on making Fantasy costumes for my Feegles, and the Dwarf King, who has still to arrive. There's also two DreamHigh Studio House Elves on order - a Fairy Godmother, and a Dwarf Knight - and they will also need Fantasy outfits . Hopefully making those will inspire me to make more Fantasy outfits for my bigger dolls as well. I've been saving up a lot of chain mail, and would like to use some of it for costumes.
I'm hoping that next year we'll be able to take a road trip again. Health issues have been such that we haven't gone anywhere the past two years. We've wanted to go back to Newfoundland at iceberg season, and to the Rockies in the fall. Hopefully next year we'll be able to.
Like usual I have way more things I'd love to do than I'll ever have time for. And I really need to make a dent in my giant stash of fabrics and trims. I guess we'll see what happens.....
